TikTok is ruining the youth

According to Jess Cohen who is the social media manager in jump 450 media social media is powerful, it has the capability to influence elections, ignite change, create celebrities, incite violence, develop relationships, produce love, and make people laugh. In this context, I want to add that TikTok (a social media application) is wreaking havoc in Pakistan. It has affected the young generation in a negative way. Instead of focusing on their study, students are wasting their precious time in making videos which have no potential benefit to the society. Mostly, they are using it as a short cut to become a celebrity overnight. The worst part is that the craving for fame ends up in a rat race which can be destructive for the youngsters.

In the end, I want to give two important pieces of advice to TikTok users. First, the youth should use TikTok in their free time, and youngsters who are students should focus more on their studies instead of thinking about their followers all the time. The second piece of advice is that they should use different types of content in their videos which could be beneficial to the audience as Haroon Rashid says:The strength of your social media is determined by the strength of your content.”
